David Horne, BSc Sports Medicine (Hons)., MA Exercise Science:

David Horne is an Exercise Physiologist who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, USA.
While at Pfeiffer University David also achieved a Minor in Sports Coaching. David also holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Furman University in South Carolina, USA.
David spent four years playing on the international tennis tour before pursuing his studies in the United States. He has an extensive background in coaching professional players, nationally ranked college players, and has coached at the largest private country club in the world for five years (Texas). He has also coached and trained tennis players at camps in Europe, America and Australia.
As an Exercise Physiologist he has trained, instructed, tested and researched athletes of all levels in many sports from football, lacrosse, basketball, golf, tennis and running to name a few.
David has also had several research abstracts published in the highly respected Medicine and Science for Sport and Exercise Journal. As a Strength and Conditioning Coach, David prepared specific programs for collegiate basketball, lacrosse, soccer and tennis teams in the United States.
David has been a guest lecturer in universities and at sports clinics in topics such as sports psychology (tennis), nutrition, exercise physiology, health facility management and personal training.
David has written many articles for magazines and newsletters involving tennis and specific fitness training for various sports.
From combining his experience as a former touring tennis professional to his position as an Exercise Physiologist; David has compiled many tennis specific drills as well as fitness drills to help assist coaches of all levels in schools, colleges, camps, country clubs and to the most advanced players at the professional level.
David is still active in the tennis world coaching and training tennis players of all levels as well consulting to individuals and groups. David is the founder of Global Sports Coaching and several other on-line sports related websites. David is also the founder of Global Sports Zone. David's most recent web site is the biggest Directory for Sports eBooks. He has authored several books from The Athlete's Mind, Speed Training for Tennis Players and The College Help Guide to name a few.
Through GSC David has achieved his ultimate goal in tennis of being able to provide a website for tennis professionals and enthusiasts to interact with fellow coaches and enhance their coaching careers by providing many great resources.
